   THE VISION

For several years, we planned an eight-month excursion to four different countries around the world. Our departure date was May 2016, and we traveled to Kenya, Haiti, Mexico, and India. We returned stateside in January 2017. Our hope was to experience the common spirit of Jesus within Christ-followers living in various cultures. We feel lucky to live in a time in history when we can participate firsthand in Christ's global body and, as a result, see more of Christ himself.

Our aim was not just to travel and observe, but rather to immerse ourselves in the daily lives of our brothers and sisters. We also longed to bring the healing gift of art to groups of children that we interacted with by guiding them in a social justice-based art project that allowed them to express their feelings and ideas about injustices in their world. Finally, we hoped to carry our experience back home with us in the form of a film. We pictured this film featuring one person from each country we visited—their choice to follow Jesus and the life they live as a result. We pray, in small ways and big, that witnessing these stories side by side would inspire the Western church to live radically in their devotion to Jesus within their own cultural context.

This film is currently in the post-production phase, and we can't wait to complete and share it. We are grateful for your participation and support along the way.

We are Derrick and Christy Collins, the parents of two sons, River and August. We thrive off of partnering with people to create things that are meaningful to them and life-giving to all. Our desire with Wild Bridge Travels is toimmerse ourselves in four
Christian communities of a particular country and

culture very different from our own for two months each. We hope in some small way to join Christ’s work of building bridges among his people by creating a film showcasing a handful of honest, inspiring human

portraits. The film is currently in the post-production stage.
