Completed Video: Urban Mosaic

Dear Friends,

Today we have the privilege of sharing a video we created featuring the inspiring work of Urban Mosaic, an organization in Mexico that is confronting the problem of urban poverty with a goal of whole-community transformation. We have never seen such a thorough and holistic approach to reaching poor communities. We have also never worked on a project with such a vast vision made up of numerous working parts!

Our work with Urban Mosaic has not only challenged and refined us as filmmakers but it has hugely oriented our perspective on our own pursuit of working among the poor here in Richmond. We love that this model of change, birthed after years of life experience and research, exists to aid people, groups and churches who feel called to minister to urban poor communities but don’t know where to start or how to see lasting change. We love that the vision is after true transformation, not just temporary solutions. It's a daunting undertaking, but its such a beautiful picture of the Kingdom of Christ on earth. So often we are bombarded by the problems of the world, issues so heartbreaking and so numerous that it can be paralyzing. Take some time to consume something that offers practical methods for change. †

We are Derrick and Christy Collins, the parents of two sons, River and August. We thrive off of partnering with people to create things that are meaningful to them and life-giving to all. Our desire with Wild Bridge Travels is toimmerse ourselves in four
Christian communities of a particular country and

culture very different from our own for two months each. We hope in some small way to join Christ’s work of building bridges among his people by creating a film showcasing a handful of honest, inspiring human

portraits. The film is currently in the post-production stage.
