Financial Support: 2 Weeks to Go

Whew! So much has happened since we made our little Vision Video back in March.

We are already down to our final couple of weeks in Haiti, which are going to be very full as we spend many more days with the family who will be a part of our film, as well as wrap up several shoots for Haitian Christian Mission. We are creating six videos to highlight some of their many ministries, including their hospital, schools, sustainability projects (peanut butter production, carpentry, and sewing), and sports program.

Beyond that, we are anticipating our travel to Mexico where, because Daylight Saving Time is not observed in Haiti, there will actually be no time zone change! This is very welcome for the ease of River's sleep schedule. :) There, we will be lending our contribution to video projects that are already underway for Conexión Mosaico.

And beyond that, we look forward to concluding our eight months of travel with two months in India. In order to make the arrangements necessary to complete this intended itinerary, we recently set a deadline of September 23 to raise the rest of our funds. Since setting that goal on August 20, we've received nearly half of what was remaining! This included the sale of Christy's biggest painting ever:

Now, with two weeks to go, our remaining need is $4,300. I thought it would be fun to see a visual progression of provision throughout the year, so I created the graph above.

Leaving paychecks behind and living off support is such an adventure. And though we may not be in the position of wondering where our bread is literally going to come from for tonight’s meal (as many do), our own context of praying “Give us this day our daily bread” feels so definitively answered, over and over again, as provision comes in at certain, specific times. It is amazing to experience!

Thank you to everyone who has shared and continues to share about our mission this year. And once again to those who have given financially, thank you so much. Your generosity is a tremendous blessing to our family and the path we are on. Our prayer is that as the work of our hands—the videos we are creating for these ministries, as well as our film spanning the four countries—is released into the world over the coming months, you would see tangible fruit springing out of the resources you are faithfully investing in us. †
